What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
I used my different pieces of technology when taking my images for my
magazine. I used:
·
Nikon D3200 with a 55-300mm lens
·
Tripod
·
HP Laptop
·
2 studio lights with white umbrellas
·
White backdrop
I used a white backdrop so that my background was one solid colour.
This made it easier to edit on Photoshop. I painted around my model using the
paintbrush tool and then selected the background area and deleted it so this
just left me with my model.
I used a tripod so that my images did not turn out blurry when I took
them.
My two studio lights which white umbrellas helped to get a softer flow
so my images were not so harsh they also
gave better lighting as I was shooting inside and the natural light was not
enough to get the effect I wanted whereas the studio lights did.
I edited my images on both a website and on Photoshop. The website
which I used is called ‘Befunky’ and on here I balanced out the contrasts and
tones. On Photoshop I changed various adjustments but mainly I changed my
models dress colour from blue to red as this then made her clothes coordinate
better with my magazine colour scheme.
The Photoshop tools which I used were:
·
Magic Wand
·
Crop
·
Spot Healing Brush
·
Paint Brush
·
Horizontal Type
·
Eraser
·
Opacity
·
Rectangle
Magic Wand- This tool helped me to remove backgrounds I didn’t want so
that I only had the most important part of my image left. I can then move this
part of the image over to another background without making it look messy.
Crop- I used the crop tool to get rid of any negative space and to
remove parts of images which could not be deleted by the magic wand tool.
Eraser- I used this tool to remove small parts of my image which were
hard to reach with other tools. This came in handy when I had to colour the
stripes in on my models dress because the lines were very small so when the
paintbrush went over the line I could easily erase the mistake and this was
easy because I can change the size of my eraser and that way I can remove the
unwanted parts.
Spot Healing Brush- I used this tool to remove any slight marks my
model has on her skin. This made my image look clearer and more professional.
Rectangle tool- I used this tool to colour my background on my front
cover. I made sure that the rectangle was a block colour and then dragged it to
cover my A4 page. This then changed my paper colour.
Paintbrush- I used this tool to soften the edges of my main cover
image. There was a slight white and green line around my model so I lowered the
opacity of my black paintbrush and painted around her to get rid of the
outline.
Horizontal Type- I used this tool to put text onto my magazine.
